We can completely organise weeks or weekends or provide the accommodation and basics for you to organise your own itinerary. We will be delighted to arrange a full holiday or short break to suit you, family or friends, your club or society.
From the balcony of your lodge at our North Devon site you are likely to see Buzzard, Raven, Bull Finch, Goldcrest and Willow Warbler, amongst others.
At Northam Burrows, you can observe from your car or walk on the coast path and dunes. The Golden Plover come in with the tide to join Oyster Catcher, Redshank, Greenshank, Curlew, Dunlin, Egret & Shelduck. Just around the coast, Instow & Fremlington may offer a glimpse of the Spoonbill, who frequent the estuary.
At Bude, Lapwing, Snipe, Teal, Wigeon & many more can be seen from the paths of the sheltered reserve close to the canal.
In contrast, the RSPB Reserve at Chapel Wood is small but perfectly formed. Situated on the side of a hill, vantage points give perfect views of woodland birds, including Pied Flycatcher, who breed here.
Our Dartmoor site offers access to many locations. Probably, the ‘jewel in the crown’ are the Avocet on the Exe Estuary, along with Black-tailed Godwit, Wigeon, Pintail,Teal, Shoveler, Plover & Curlew who brighten up a winter day. Linnet & Reed Bunting frequent the marshes & many migrating species stop off here en-route.
Aylesbeare Common gives us Stonechat, Dartford Warbler & Nightjar.
